Duet 2021

Oxford St Bulimba, Qld

A duet is a performance by two musicians  - an exchange of harmony, rhythm and timbre to create a song in two perfectly connecting parts.

Peewee pairs perform a territorial duet. Mating for life, these birds we see in our backyards and parks are domestic home makers. They spend their days foraging for worms and insects and collecting mud and grass for their clay nests. But, if there is a bird intruder in their territory - Beware! The Peewee pair put up a united front using a wing beat dance and perfectly timed song to scare intruders away.

Bulimba is a Yuggera word meaning Peewee - it reminds us that the key to a duet is working together.
